Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi needed a unique solution to allow for maintenance of rollercoaster carts. Due to restricted space, a sliding hatch was proposed to allow easy craning in and out. Surespan manufactured and supplied a SLHE Aluminium, thermally broken, single leaf, electrically operated, sliding roof access hatch.
The hatch was a large 5400 x 4000 structural opening sliding hatch. Traditional roof access hatches would require various actuators, stays and central support beams on covers this size, a sliding hatch allowed maximum clear space.
The lid is designed to slide across the width (4000mm) on runners sitting on the roof.
Operated by a 230v geared motor.
The lid and upstand are filled with 50mm thick CFC and HCFC free Polyisocyanurate insulation which offers a U-Value of 0.43W/m²K.
The hatch is designed to sit on a 150mm wide upstand (by others) and is provided with a purpose made flashing fitted with brush seal.

SRHP Roof Access Hatch with Thermal Break
Surespan’s Aluminium Roof Access Hatches feature an unprecedented 1″/2″/3″ wide thermal break to provide the ultimate in thermal performance.
Insulation options include polyisocyanurate board or non-combustible mineral wool, to achieve a variety performance levels to suit project requirements.
Designed with options for manual gas spring assistance, featuring aluminium continuous hinges and an automatic hold-open safety stay to lock the lid in the open position to a 85° span.
For larger, heavier lids, consideration is to be given for powered assistance by 24v DC actuators, to ensure ease and safety of use is afforded to the operative.
A double unbroken EPDM seal ensures weather tightness, with an External Liner fitted as standard to allow for a variety of hot or cold applied weathering materials.
Available with a polyester powder coated dual finish upon request.

SureLink Rooflights
SureLink modules are a system of premium quality assembled glass rooflight units that simply lap together to form rooflights of unlimited length.
Modules are constructed from structurally glazed double glazed units in a powder coated, fully thermally broken aluminium frame. The double glazed glass panels are made up of 6mm toughened outer, 90% argon filled cavitywith a 9.5mm laminated inner (inc. 1.5mm PVB interlayer) and are manufactured using systems fully accredited to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
